Commissioner Rettig just sent a message to all employees, recognizing Veterans’ Day, and discussing the fabulous event that our DC chapter was able to coordinate; having Mr. Thomas Begay speak at the headquarters building. The Commissioner’s message links to the IRS Source article about the event.
Mr. Begay is a Navajo Code Talker, veteran of Iwo Jima, and Chosin Reservior. For those of us who were able to attend, either in person, or virtually; it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Mr. Begay’s biography can be found on the Bureau of Indian Affairs website:
