The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is hosting a combined virtual and onsite Memorial Day Ceremony. It is scheduled for Thursday, May 27, 2021 (11:00 am – 12:30 pm EST). The HUD 2021 Memorial Day Theme is: ‘Honoring Our Fallen – 30th Anniversary Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm – We Remember and Honor’.
You are cordially requested to join the Honorable Marcia L. Fudge, Secretary, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the HUD Veterans Affinity Group (HUDVAG), Lieutenant General Russel L. Honoré, United States Army, (Ret.), Brigadier General Clara Adams Ender, United States Army, (Ret.), and Lieutenant Colonel Marisol Chalas, United States Army, Legislative Assistant to the 37th Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, along with Jill Etter, Director of Communications/National Board of Directors of The National Desert Storm War Memorial Association, and Chief Warrant Officer 5 Aaron P. The Ceremony will also include special appearances from the Bowie State University, ROTC, 4th Brigade, United States Army Cadet Command, and the Women Veterans of America, Color Guard, Chapter 48, Denton, TX.
The HUD VAG goal is to raise awareness to military and Veteran related events that celebrate observances during National Military Appreciation Month (NMAM). We hope that by joining VAG during our 15thAnnual Memorial Day Ceremony on Thursday, May 27, 2021, 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. you will find it to be a memorable, but honorable, and patriotic experience.
